Statement STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY OF ST. MARY OF CZESTOCHOWA SCHOOL The Catholic Education of students who attend St. Mary of Czestochowa School has three aims: TO TEACH the gospel message of Jesus Christ and to provide the skills needed to meet the needs of each student. As a Catholic institution we foster the faith development in our students. Our goal is to illuminate and enrich a student's knowledge of God, life and the diverse cultures that exist in our school and society. TO BUILD A COMMUNITY based on the command of Our Lord Jesus, to love one another without deference to race, creed or nationality. By living, loving and learning in a faith community, our goal is to help the student become a caring and a concerned member of the total human community. TO SERVE the human community through prayer, worship and social action activities. St. Mary of Czestochowa School will help the student grow in the service of God, the Church, the Community and one another. St. Mary of Czestochowa School offers a well-rounded education that recognizes the development, personal integrity and cultural background of the students it serves. The curriculum is designed to recognize and meet the differing abilities and learning styles of the students. It challenges the students to achieve to the best of their ability and to someday take their place in society. We believe that students best learn through example, motivation, inspiration, cooperation, encouragement, self-imposed discipline and evaluation experienced at home and at school. Since parents are the primary source of influence and an integral part of their child's learning process, we look to them for support and cooperation in fostering their child's faith and insuring continuous academic growth. It is the right and duty of parents to educate their child and to cooperate with the school in the educational process. The children, on the other hand, are not present simply to receive, but it is their responsibility to do all in their power to cooperate with the School, their Home, the Church and Society to develop their God-given talents to the fullest.
MISSION STATEMENT As Catholic school educators we believe that students, like ourselves, are a pilgrim people, making their journey through this life with a constant focus on the next. As Christian Catholic educators, we have a special responsibility to encourage each student to achieve his/her maximum potential. We will work to stimulate the spirit of inquiry, the acquisition of knowledge and understanding, and the thoughtful formulation of worthy goals. As Catholic school educators, we believe that children are influenced by their home, community, and a society in which attitudes toward Christian values are often challenged Parents, the source from whom children derive their values, entrust their children to us to instruct, complement and intensify the education and formation begun in the home. We will do our best to assist these parents in fulfilling their obligation for the Christian formation and education of their child. As Catholic school educators, we believe that the school community is both an agent of appropriate change and a preserver of basic tradition. We consider the school community and integral part of the parish whose people it serves, and a vital force for preparing future civic and Church leaders. We will fulfill our obligation to our apostolic profession by cooperating wholeheartedly in the continued building of parish life by emphasizing the integral nature of our Catholic school within the parish community. As Catholic school educators, we believe that professional excellence in our school directly influences our Church, country and world. We will strive to create a Christian environment that promotes sound moral and professional judgment. Through our spirit of joy and enthusiasm, we will encourage others to join us in our apostolate of teaching at St. Mary of Czestochowa School!
VISION STATEMENT We believe that all Christian children are called to live and bear fruit that will lead them to Christian adulthood. We anticipate a student who will integrate within his/her life experiences, the values, behaviors and concepts that will bespeak a Christian message of faith, love, truth, peace, and justice. 8y the end of eighth grade, we envision our students to read with comprehension, to write and speak clear, grammatical English, and to become acquainted with quality literature. We want them to be aware of the essential elements of American and World history, the major landscapes and nations of the earth and the rights and obligations that belong to U.S. citizens. In mathematics and geometry we want them to be proficient and to be familiar with the basic principles of algebra. We want them to have begun exploring the sciences, to be familiar with the history and practice of art and music, and to have developed habits of health, fitness and athletic fair play. Our vision, in summary, depicts our elementary graduates to be fully prepared for serious and challenging study in high school and then to be Christian adults who will be of service to God, the Church, the community and one another.
